I am selling this beautiful one of a kind exquisitely detailed signed pen and ink of three baby blue jays sitting on a flowering
dogwood branch. You can see by the PHOTOS the level of detail and accuracy that she (SVETLANA B. ) painstakingly recreated.
It truly is a beautiful piece of OOAK art.
She had sold one other pen and ink (American Lotus) to Isaac Sutton for $8,000. It was purchased
after it won an honorable mention September of 2006 at the Ninth Annual International Botanical Art Exhibition of Botanical Artists
and the Horticultural Society Of New York. At that time, It's sale price was the highest ever paid for a pen and ink in the history of the show. At one point it was on display at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation with dozens of other pieces in the Isaac M. Sutton Botanical Collection.
Svetlana was a new face on the art scene and yet extremely gifted. A few years ago, my then husband and I discussed the sale
of this piece with Svetlana (his step mother) and she gave us her blessing. This one is from 2006
The drawing is unframed but protected so you can choose your own custom frame.
It measures 14.5" in height and 22.5" in width.
Please message me with any questions you may have. Thank you for looking :)
