Synopsis, Disc 1 (KILLER FILMS):
BLACK OPS (2008)
When a World War II-era battleship re-deployed to the Persian Gulf for black-op interrogations has fallen into radio silence, a Marine task force is sent to investigate...only to find everyone aboard murdered. An elite Marine task force, an NCIS investigator, and a pair of scientists is sent to investigate and report back on any abnormalities. Upon boarding the ship, the Marines are horrified to discover that nearly the entire crew has been ruthlessly slaughtered. But there are a few survivors, and they know that the man responsible for the butchery is a notorious terrorist who operates under the name Fadawi. Now, as the few remaining survivors lead the Marines directly into Fadawi's lair, they become locked into battle with an enemy who will stop at nothing to kill them and destroy everything they represent.
CONTRACT KILLERS (2008)
Desperate to live a "normal" life after functioning for years as a contract killer for the CIA, a female assassin learns that this is one job that she can't just walk away from when "the system" frames her for the murder of the person she loves most. Accused of killing her husband and hunted by the very people she once worked for, the trained assassin hatches a plan to hit back where it hurts most and prove her innocence in the process.
DOUBLE IDENTITY (2009)
A benevolent American physician must attempts to elude violent mobsters and the British Secret Service after being mistaken for a secret agent while working in Bulgaria. Working for Doctors Beyond Borders, Dr. Nicholas Pinter (Val Kilmer) is caring for patients in war-torn Bulgaria when a gang of diamond smugglers misidentify him as a government operative. Pursued by a pair of trigger-happy gangsters, Dr. Pinter escapes certain death with a little help from an elusive beauty named Katherine (Izabella Miko) and the British Secret Service. But his adventure is far from over, because the harder Dr. Pinter works to prove his innocence...the more convinced his enemies become that he's the man they've been searching for.
U.S. SEALS DEAD OR ALIVE (2002)
The U.S. Seals are on the hunt for a deadly terrorist called Casper. When they learn that he plans on selling a cluster bomb to the Albanians and double-crossing them, a race against time ensues. Casper hasn't found the bomb yet, but if he does, it could spell the end of life as we know it. Will the toughest military force on Earth be able to get to the insidious device before the terrorist does?
Synopsis, Disc 2 (VIOLENT FILMS):
BAD LIEUTENANT (2009)
The Werner Herzog-helmed production and cult crime drama Bad Lieutenant centers on a corrupt drug- and gambling-addled detective (Nicolas Cage) in post-Katrina New Orleans investigating the killing of five Senegalese immigrants. Cage steps into Harvey Keitel's mold of a corrupt police officer. Co-stars Eva Mendes, Val Kilmer, and Xzibit.
CYBORG SOLDIER (2008)
Former USC Middleweight Champion Richard Franklin stars in this sci-fi action flick about a former death row inmate who is genetically reconstructed to be the perfect human weapon, and who attempts to blow the lid off the clandestine military program responsible for his remarkable transformation. I.S.A.A.C. (Intuitive Synthetic Autonomous Assault Commando) is the prototype of a highly classified government program designed to create assassins that are both intellectually superior, and possess the power to physically regenerate their bodies and minds. Upon breaking free from the lab, I.S.A.A.C. takes Deputy Lindsay Rearden (Tiffani Thiessen) hostage in an attempt to expose the program used to create him. But accomplishing this mission will be no simple task, because world-renowned robotic engineer Simon Hart (Bruce Greenwood) is hot on I.S.A.A.C.'s trail, and he's got a small army of military agents who have orders to shoot on sight. Now the chase is under way, and the man responsible for creating I.S.A.A.C. is about to find out just what a remarkable specimen he's truly made.
DAY ZERO (2008)
Three men come face to face with their concerns about war when they're drafted in this independent drama set in the near future. As the United States becomes more deeply mired in wars around the world and the threat of major terrorist attacks looms large, the federal government decides to reinstate conscription, and three friends face conflicting emotions as they wait out their last few days before entering the Army under the new draft. George Rifkin (Chris Klein) is a lawyer who has been helping his wife, Molly (Ginnifer Goodwin), get through her recent cancer treatment; he would prefer to stay home with her as she recovers, but despite his legal know-how he can't find a loophole out of his current dilemma. Aaron Feller (Elijah Wood) is a slight and sensitive writer who doesn't feel physically or emotionally prepared to serve in the military, despite his sense of moral obligation, and he turns to a therapist, Dr. Reynolds (Ally Sheedy), to help him cope. And James Dixon (Jon Bernthal) is a cabbie who feels reasonably strong and confident about his future as a soldier until he meets Patricia (Elizabeth Moss), a college student who challenges his beliefs and assumptions about the war and each man's place in it. Day Zero was the first feature film from veteran editor Bryan Gunnar Cole, and received its world premiere at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
DESERT SAINTS (2001)
In this offbeat thriller, a refined and well-educated hired killer has an unusual way of doing business: He finds women, forces them to help him with his murders, and then kills them before they can tell anyone about his work. With police detectives on his trail, the killer picks up a woman hitchhiking in the desert, planning to use her in his latest assignment: the murder of a drug kingpin in Mexico. But the killer discovers that his latest "accomplice" is not so eager to cooperate, and knows more than he imagines about his life of crime. Desert Saints stars Kiefer Sutherland, Melora Walters, Jamey Sheridan, and Leslie Stefanson.
