Synopsis:
Used the world over to specify the obligations for delivering goods in international contracts, Incoterms 1980 have now been revised by experts from the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to bring them completely up-to-date with changes in international trade. When drafting their contract, buyers and sellers can be sure of defining their responsibilities simply and safely by referring to one of the ICC Incoterms and in so doing they eliminate any possibility of misunderstanding and subsequent dispute. Incoterms 1990 have been written to take account of changes in transportation and techniques used to render them fully compatible with developments in electronic data interchange (EDI). Traders, lawyers, insurers and bankers will all find Incoterms 1990 easier to use and easier to understand.
