Synopsis:
One of the most definitive superhero movies of all time, "Superman" (1978) stars Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel. This classic gets all the trimmings with this incredible 4-disc Special Edition. The blockbuster film follows the origins of Superman, beginning with his rescue from Krypton by father Jor-El (played by Marlon Brando), to his teenage years being raised on a Midwestern farm, to his life in the big city as undercover newspaper reporter Clark Kent, and subsequent transformation into Superman. As he fights a diabolical plan by the evil Lex Luthor (played by a superb Gene Hackman) to take over the world, he also romances fellow reporter Lois Lane. The DVD extras are loaded with incredible treasures including multiple audio commentaries, the original 1978 theatrical release, the extended 2000 edition of the film, several making-of documentaries and a collection of original screen tests.
