Synopsis:

Cetron is founder of the consulting firm Forecasting International, while Davies has been a senior editor at Omni. Together they have written Probable Tomorrows: How Science and Technology Will Transform Our Lives in the Next Twenty Years (1997) and Crystal Globe: The Haves and Have-Nots of the New World Order (1991). They first explain how science is making possible the future they predict, and then they look at the practical medical, ethical, religious, economic, political, personal, social, and cultural issues that will be encountered. The authors draw distinctions between the U.S. and the rest of the world, and they delineate 74 trends that will affect the U.S. directly and 50 more that will have worldwide impact.
