US Navy Military Ship Spot Light Lantern Sea Lamp. ( I was told that it was an emergency deck light from one of our old Canadian Navy ships, but cannot confirm this)..maybe the Canadian Navy got them from the Americans??)
Jay Moulding Corp. MIL-F-16377/53. Dimensions Length: (side to side) 5 1/2 in., Width: (incl. lamp trim and mounting bracket on the back) 6 1/2 in., Height: 6 1/2in X 8 1/2in. including the handle. Probably from the 1950's.
There is also a small label attached to an inside wire "Assembled in Mexico".
Used but still in great shape with minor nicks/scuffs/scrapes, see pics for close up details. All original . it worked fine years ago when the batteries were still working, sold as is.
Requires two 6 volt batteries(the non-working batteries were removed and sent to a Hazardous Waste Collection. The Phillips bulb / lamp (marked: Phillips 14) appears to be in good condition.
The NSN numbers for the lamp (NSN 6240-00-866-4142 ) (light bulb), toggle, and buttons are on the intact label on the inside of the Lantern
