Selling the family Towle and Oneida flatware I don't need, hoping some people out there collect this stuff or need replacement pieces. Prices START at $2. No silver in any, so technically not 'silverware'. All of these are normal used condition, although the larger serving pieces have less wear due to less use. No bends, no abnormal damage. All will have numerous light scratches in the bowls/fronts, some random heavier ones (not deep), and more dense ones on the back due to stacking and use (including dull scuffed areas across the 'hump' usually). Very hard to get pics of that, but you can come and pick out the ones you want if you live close by, otherwise I'll pick out the best ones in my opinion. I'd prefer to sell them in at least even numbers (except the one-offs can go by themselves), or even better, the whole batch of either brand. Priced by research on 'that' auction site (huge swings of sold prices on many though, some I doubt were real sales, but trying to be at/lower than average, and there's no shipping cost if picking up in Sarasota County, FL), and mostly well under that replacements place. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC on what you want on your FIRST email, ok? Saves time and more emails.
Pic 1) Towle Colonial Plume pattern, satin handle finish (so NOT the silverplate version), discontinued in 1990. 18/8 stainless steel, all made in Germany. Sold some finally, 24 pieces left:
12 Dinner forks, 8"...$16 each, 4 for $55.
8 table oval/soup spoons, 7"...$15 ea. or 4 for $50.
1 Sugar spoon, 6 1/8"...$18
1 ladle 6 3/4"...$12
1 pierced/trident/3-tine serving spoon, 8 1/2"...$10
1 cold meat serving fork, 9"...$16
24 pieces, comes to $321 with the quantity discounts, get all for...$260, sell on e*ay and make money!
Pic 2) Oneida: Toujours (Cube mark), Community Distinction, and Frostfire, all stainless steel. 10 pieces.
Toujours:
1 pie server with serrated edge, 11". Not much to go on sales wise, was $25, now...$15
Community & Frostfire:
6 Community 'Distinction' (no wings style) iced tea spoons, 7 1/2"...$2 ea., all 6 for $9
3 'Frostfire' fruit/grapefruit spoons, 6"...$4 ea., all 3 for $10
Pics 3,4,5) Antique serving utensils:
First: Set of 6 old cooking/butcher/forging utensils. Stuff the grandparents used to use. As they came to us, no oiling or painting or other stuff done to them that I know of. Apparently collectible now, for decoration for kitchens and restaurant walls. Left to right in the pic:
1) Iron ladle, 17" long, bowl is 4 5/8" wide. Eye hook hanger, nice condition for its age.
2) Perforated iron skimmer/strainer, 17 1/4" long, 'bowl' is 4 3/4" wide. Eye hook hanger. Heavier duty than 1st one, also good condition.
3) Copper/brass strainer/skimmer with iron handle, 17" long, 'bowl' is 5" wide. 'Rat tail'/hooked hanger. Thin copper or brass, lip on back side holding the iron 'wire' around the rim has a broken out part about 2" long that exposes the wire. Some usual dings in the basket.
4) Iron strainer/skimmer, 20" long, bowl is 5.5" wide, thin metal. Eye hook hanger. Fair amount of the black finish is off.
5) Another iron skimmer, flatter type, 13" long, skimmer area is 4 3/8" wide. Rat tail hanger. Little blobs of metal in the 'bowl', so likely was used for blacksmith/forging work.
6) Butcher's or fireplace fork, 16.5" long, eye hook hanger. Decent black finish, naturally some worn off here and there, but best overall piece of the bunch.
Based on sold prices on that auction site, with many getting over $20 a piece for some of these, I'm asking just...$60 for all
Pic 4) Georg Jensen of Denmark, Plata salad spoon. Stainless, 8.5" long. Scratched up from use, but they all are, from the few I could find. Seems they're from the 1930's or so. A specialty site had these for $59.99-$94, but actual sales elsewhere for the 1-2 I could find were in the mid-$30+ range. REDUCED, now...$15
Pic 5) 4.25" Silver plated sugar tongs by Rogers & Hamilton, circa 1896. Raphael pattern. No dings, bends or scratches. Polished up ok, but there is some burnishing and edge wear of the silver plate. Manufacturer stamp didn't strike well, so it reads 'PCGERS' instead of ROGERS, and the 1 in 1896 is just a couple dots. Found these online from $25 to $50 and higher. REDUCED, now...$10
I'm not online until mid-afternoon eastern time, and evenings on and off. I reply as soon as I can, so PLEASE check your email later in the day or evening, and please reply back in a timely fashion (preferably within 24 hours ok?), thanks.
I charge exact shipping, no handling or other padding fees! Please send at least your zip code, or your whole address if you're sure you're buying, on your first message so I can get you the shipping costs/choices right away, thanks.
