Set of 8 vintage Franciscan Apple saucers with the beautiful cream body and charming sculptural apple decoration in mellow red, green, and brown glaze colors that have made this pattern beloved since its introduction in 1940. Various backstamps: 7 from 1940-62, 1 from 1979-84. All made in USA. Nice chance to fill out a collection and stow away backups.

Condition and backstamp details:

1. Backstamp: "Franciscan Made in California" - black "Franciscan" is arched. 1949-53. Condition: excellent. No cracks, crazing, scratches, or stains. One tiny chip (1/16") on underside of rim (not visible in use).

2. Backstamp: "Hand Decorated Franciscan Ware Made in California USA" - black backstamp is in a circle, with "Hand" and "Decorated" outside circle. 1940-47. Also incised with "M G" or "M Y." Condition: very good. No cracks or crazing. Small stain (1/4") on cup well. Slight surface scratches. One tiny chip (1/16") on side/underside of rim (not visible in use).

3. Backstamp: "Gladding, McBean & Co Franciscan Earthenware � � Made in USA M A 361" - brown "TV" stamp. Ca. 1958. Condition: like new. No cracks, crazing, chips, scratches, or stains.

4. Backstamp: "Interpace Franciscan Earthenware Made in USA 72-69 Ovensafe Color Fast" - brown "TV" stamp. After 1962. Condition: very good. No cracks, crazing, or stains. One tiny chip (1/16") on bottom. One slight surface scratch (1/4") on edge of cup well.

5. Backstamp: "Interpace Franciscan Earthenware Made in USA 68-69 Ovensafe Color Fast" - brown "TV" stamp. After 1962. Condition: like new. No cracks, crazing, chips, scratches, or stains.

6. Backstamp: "Franciscan Made in California USA Hand Decorated Gladding, McBean & Co Oven-Safe T" - black backstamp in a circle bisected by "Hand Decorated." 1953-58. Condition: excellent. No cracks, crazing, scratches, or stains. One tiny chip (1/16") on side/underside of rim (not visible in use).

7. Backstamp: "Franciscan Made in California USA Hand Decorated Gladding, McBean & Co Oven-Safe T" - black backstamp in a circle bisected by "Hand Decorated." 1953-58. Condition: like new. No cracks, crazing, chips, scratches, or stains.

8. Backstamp: "63" - black. Used at end of US production, early 1980s. Condition: like new. No cracks, crazing, chips, scratches, or stains.
