This colorful piece is one of four famous watercolors Ken Danby painted at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, 1984.
High quality, Limited Edition (limited-printing) lithographic print on heavy, acid-free paper, signed by the author. 10.125 x 13.5" image on 15 x18 paper size.
Professionally matted and framed: Triple-matted, acid-free, in red, soft violet and charcoal, echoing the colors of the work itself. The frame is studio-quality anodized aluminum in high-gloss metallic tungston finish, 16.25 x 18.25â€ overall. Anti-glare art glass.
On January 14, 2002, Ken Danby was appointed to the Order of Canada. Comments from the official Governor General's announcement: "He is one of our nation's foremost realist painters. His images, which depict familiar and cherished Canadian themes, have earned him an international following. His work is displayed in major public collections such as those of the National Gallery of Canada, The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, as well as in numerous private and corporate collections. A strong advocate for the arts in education, he has championed this cause in many of his volunteer positions, including board member for national arts organizations and guest speaker."
Mr. Danby passed away in 2007.

Ken Danby is one of only a few contemporary artists who have created paintings that make the transition from artwork to cultural icon. His outstanding, timeless images have earned him international recognition as one of the foremost realist artists.
