I am a Registered Nurse.
But before the title, before the license, before the stability—I was a survivor.
I am a human trafficking survivor who lived in uncertainty for two years, out of legal status, not knowing what tomorrow would look like. Those were some of the hardest years of my life. Fear, instability, and silence tried to define my story—but they did not win.
We fought the case. And we won.
The day I finally received my U.S. RN license wasn’t just a professional milestone—it was redemption in motion. It was proof that what was meant to break me became part of what built me.
Today, I work two to three nursing jobs. I work paycheck to paycheck. I know what it feels like to be exhausted, to calculate bills down to the dollar, and to still show up with compassion to care for others. Nursing is my calling—but I also know that survival and calling are not the same as freedom.
That’s why I’m building an online business on the side.
Not because I’m ungrateful.
Not because I don’t love nursing.
But because I want options.
I want financial freedom.
I want flexibility.
I want time with my family.
I want to break cycles—not just for me, but for those who come after me.
My past does not disqualify me.
It qualifies me.
It gave me resilience.
It gave me faith.
It gave me fire.
One verse that carried me through everything is:
**“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”
