Rosacea is a widespread face dermatosis, however it is still difficult to define and categorize it. Currently, it is believed that the causes of rosacea (ultraviolet light, heat, spicy foods, alcohol, stress, and microorganisms) trigger an out-of-control cascading innate and adaptive immune response.
Demodex mite proliferation is now recognized as a marker for rosacea and is one of the drivers of this inflammatory cascade. Topical acaricidal medications can also successfully cure the papulopustules of rosacea. Demodex growth seems to be a progressive process in rosacea and can not be clinically apparent at the beginning of the condition.
However, treating early rosacea with an acaricide can reduce early inflammation, reduce the chance of flare-ups after laser treatment, and prevent the ultimate development of the papulopustules of rosacea. The effectiveness of this approach has been verified by prospective controlled clinical trials with long-term follow-up.
Ungex, a leader in the production of anti-demodex solutions, has developed one of the safest anti-demodex formulations that combines with pure essential oils to treat Demodex skin mites completely. All Demodex species, including Demodex Brevis and Demodex Folliculorum, are eradicated by Ungex products.
